WakeCast Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 17, 2026
WakeCast is designed to work without an account or a WakeCast-operated server. This policy explains what the app uses and where that information goes.
Information WakeCast uses
- Alarm rules and settings. Times, repeat days, labels, weather rules, and scheduling state are stored in the app's container on your device. They may be included in an encrypted device or iCloud backup according to your Apple backup settings.
- Location. With your permission, WakeCast obtains your current location to request a forecast from Apple Weather. WakeCast does not operate a server that receives or stores your location.
- Weather data. Forecasts are provided by Apple Weather and are used on the device to decide which AlarmKit occurrences should be scheduled.
- Purchase status. If you buy WakeCast Pro, the App Store processes the purchase. WakeCast uses StoreKit to verify the resulting entitlement on your device. WakeCast does not receive your payment-card details.
Data collection and tracking
WakeCast does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell personal information. The current release does not send analytics, alarm labels, precise location, or diagnostics to a WakeCast-operated server.
Apple may process information under its own policies when providing App Store, WeatherKit, location, backup, and operating-system services. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Permissions
- Alarm access is used to schedule and manage AlarmKit system alarms.
- Location access is used to request local forecasts for weather rules.
- Background refresh may be used to update forecasts and reconcile scheduled alarms. iOS decides when background work runs.
You can change permissions in iOS Settings. Disabling a permission can prevent conditional alarms from working as configured.
Retention and deletion
Alarm rules, cached location, and cached forecast state remain on your device until you delete the relevant alarm or uninstall WakeCast. You can remove all app data by deleting the app. App Store purchase records are retained by Apple under Apple's policies and may be restored on another device using the same Apple Account.
Children
WakeCast is a general utility and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app's data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
